Midnight Hot

Woke up at 3 in the morning with this in my head... so I'm posting it, so what if it's incomplete.

Where once did clash and horses crash
And tempered steel did meet
In their heads, a cerebral dread
Would echo a resounding roar.
Now there, do roam these metal drones
Tilling the soil in their wake,
And under does thunder,
The earth torn asunder, beneath a metal tread.
The sky burns white,
This war-torn knight,
Spurs his steed deep into the fray,
Blood guts and gore, lay spread out before
His carnivorous appetite.
Lock load and fire and into his sights
Does a white fluttering pennant appear,
A squeeze of the trigger, aims to deliver
A metal slug straight through it’s heart.
In the heavens above do wheel and cavort
A multitude of scavenging beasts
Biding their time until they can dine
On the rapidly unfolding feast.
But now in their place do metal skinned ones
Pirouette and swoop down to land, to unburden their load
On the firmament below, till earth and sky are but one.
